Kayaking 16-17 Feb 2008

My school PE dept jio-ed people to join kayaking 1-star course held by moe. had always wanted to learn kayaking long ago but didnt have a chance. still rem the gd old times in sec school when i went canoeing in twin canoe with classmate.

felt very excited. course started at 9am and end at 3pm for both days. lobang colleague's car... first day, learn to capsize, hv to tap the kayak 2 times after overturn and then get out automatically. i had a hard time trying to capsize, had to do so with the help of 2 colleagues to help me overturn ;p after lunch break, learn to kayak, each one of us took one. wanted to try out the more difficult one, long and narrow one, called the deck but only left with 1 so i take the broader and shorter one, called the dolphin. the latter is more stable and is used by students. soon, i felt seasick, kept yawning. i tried to look far and don focus. upon reaching home, i vomitted.

2nd day, we went on expedition to changi sailing club. i kayaked very slowly so the instuctor kept pushing me to kayak faster, pulled the water with more strength and dipped the paddle deeper into the sea. felt a bit sick when his motor-boat came nearer. vomitted n felt better... seeing tt, the instructor used his motor boat to send me back to shore. we had a rest there, followed by early lunch at abt 11am. set off at 1145am and were told tt i may take the motorboat but i chose not to else spoilt all the fun. once we reached back, tt's all for the kayaking course. ended early at abt 1pm and took group photo.

fun but rather tedious carrying the kayak and emptying the water in kayak, cos its heavy plus my seasickness.
